This week we get to know a little bit more about our planners in Travemünde. Our branch in Travemünde was established in 1996 and is located directly on the Skandinavienkai. This location offers flexibility and is the hub between Germany and Scandinavia. Heisterkamp Travemünde has the perfect location for ferry traffic and is therefore ideal for the transport world. To ensure that everything runs smoothly, our planners are essential. Below you can read their story.
Our team consists of five motivated planners. Initially, our work consists of scheduling trailers and drivers. We do this based on loading and unloading times, completely according to the customer's wishes. In addition, we work very solution-oriented. Our team analyzes common problems and always tries to find an appropriate solution. In fact, you can say that we are a kind of mediator between drivers and customers. We ensure that the customers are well served and that drivers can work in an efficient and enjoyable manner. Through this approach and constant exchange of knowledge, we have developed a great collaboration between Heisterkamp and our clients over the years.
The work of a planner is quite hectic. There is always something to do. At the moment, there are about 100 trucks in daily use. A challenge for us as a planner, but also very interesting for our drivers. It provides a lot of variety in their work.
In recent years, communication options have improved considerably. For example, we can now send messages via the on-board computer. Because of this, the contact between the drivers and us has been greatly improved. To ensure that personal contact is not completely lost, drivers can still drop by for a chat.
